Well, hard as it has been for me, my guildies and those we left behind, I am now sure that I have made the right decision. I really miss the friends I made in CS, but still chat to a lot of folks there (if I’ve missed chatting to you and you would like it, please whisper me). I’d love to have an alt or two in the old guild, just to chat and keep up with people, but I can understand why some might not want that. I’d never do any raiding or steal phat lewts – I can’t imagine playing anyone other than Seph in raids. I mean – I have a fully epic Paladin of my Dad’s, but all she does is craft glyphs for me
Ah well. On to other things. My new guild downed Mimiron! In our first proper week of raiding we cleared 8 bosses on the first night (Weds), then went back on the Friday to continue. We one shot Hodir and Freya and moved on to Mimiron. It took us a fair while to learn, but on our 9th try we got him down!

I know – you’ve all seen the kill shot sort of things before, but it felt so good on our first proper week together! We wandered along to see what Vezax looked like. Wow – he’s ugly! Time was getting really late, but it was a Friday night and we were all pumped up…. He hits hard and nasty. You can’t regen mana! Argh! What’s the point of me stacking all this stuff that gives me back mana if I can’t then use it for a fight? Stupid bloody boss. Good job I’ve re-worked my gear a bit to stack Int.
Then I went on holiday. The rest of the guys had a few more nights on Vezax, but he was not giving up easily. This week the raiding week didn’t go so well. (I wasn’t there so what do you expect really?) I got back off hols and raided Sunday night. We were on Thorim and Freya (who were bit tricky this week compared to last, but we got back in our rhythm). Then we moved to Mimiron, who we got past with ease – one quickie wipe as someone did an oops, but then he went down. We had some really good tries on Vezaz again. We returned on Monday to try him for a whole evening – the best (and most completely frustrating) was a 3% wipe. So close, but me and our other healer ran out of mana and couldn’t find the room to get some back. It got late and we decided that was it for the week – we don’t want to risk burn-out in our enthusiasm for trying new things.
So now I need to farm some Fel Mana Potion and Demonic Runes, both of which I have read will work on the Vezax fight. It’s fun to be having to learn new things and working out how to get the very very best out of my character again. I’m very hopeful that we will get Vezax down this week. It will feel good to go into patch 3.2 at least having seen Yogg-Saron – even better if we can finish him off too
